MAYOR’S
CORNER
Hello Turbotville residents,
Please remember to keep your properties within local ordinance policies.
All ordinances can be found at www.turbotvillepa.org, under the ordinances tab.
If there is a complaint about an ordinance violation a complaint form MUST be
properly filled out. If you need to file a complaint about ordinance violations
a complaint form can be either picked up from the Turbotville Borough Office or
found on www.turbotvillepa.org under the ordinances tab. Submit the completed
complaint form to the borough office. At this point it will be completely
confidential. Upon receiving a complaint form it will be reviewed and handled
accordingly.
In other news, winter is here in full force. This is just a simple
reminder that if it is snowing or is expected to snow you need to move your
vehicle off the streets so the maintenance employees can effectively plow.
Remember to clean off your sidewalks within 24 hours after a snow or ice event
and also please do not throw or place snow back into the streets.
I hope
everyone enjoyed their holidays. The lights for Christmas from around town
looked absolutely amazing. Thank you for all your efforts in making our
community warm and welcoming.
Time to ring in the New Year!!
I would like to
remind everyone about the special election for senator coming up on January
31st.
"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new
dream" -C.S. Lewis
Thank you for your time,
Mayor
Benjamin Gilbert

Sunday, January
1st is Epiphany Sunday. Epiphany
celebrates the light of Christ being revealed to the wider world. This is
symbolized by the visit to the manger by the Three Wise Men, also known as the
Three Kings or Magi. According to the Gospel of Matthew, they followed the star
of Bethlehem to find Jesus and present him with gifts of gold, frankincense,
and myrrh.
On January 8th,
we celebrate the Baptism of our Lord. This day is also a day where we remember
our own personal baptisms as we have a celebration of baptism of one of our
newest members.
We will be having
a chicken and waffle dinner on Saturday, January 14, from 4 – 6pm. Menu includes chicken, waffles, mashed
potatoes, gravy, vegetables, dessert, and beverage.
Adults $12.

Heresies in the Church. We begin on Tuesday, January 3. Classes meet at 10:30

three-part pattern of the
Apostles Creed:

what He has said.
+ The two natures
of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
+ The work of the
Holy Spirit, the gift of salvation, the ministry of the Church, and the
resurrection of the dead.

others in need. We also have some Apple Butter left- if you would like to buy a
pint or 2, please contact any member and we can see you get it. $4.00 per pint
or 3 /$11.00. We had our Christmas social on Wednesday, December 21 where we were
singing carols, playing games, and just having a fun night together. We look
forward to our many events during the New Year. Our Purse/Gift Card Bingo will
be held on Saturday, March 18th at The Turbotville Community Hall. The cost
will be $25.00 for 20 games of Bingo. More details to follow later. We wish
